As a professional photographer passionate about capturing life's beautiful moments, Amanda Maclin brings a unique artistic eye to every project. With a lifetime of experience behind the lens, Amanda has developed a signature style that blends traditional techniques with a modern edge.
Born in Atlanta and raised in a river town in Illinois, Amanda's artistic and photographic journey began at six with her first film camera. This early start sparked a lifelong passion, further fueled by access to a darkroom in her home throughout her upbringing. Inspired by the skilled photographers and artists in her family and local community, Amanda honed her artistic perspective.
Her artistic path took a formal trajectory as she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Missouri, where an emphasis on photography, graphic design, and printmaking profoundly influenced her creative path. Over time, she has enriched her skills through various photography courses across seven distinctly different college campuses. Since relocating to the serene Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina in 2017, Amanda has established herself as a professional photographer providing a wide range of services. With a passion for sharing the art of photography, she began providing privately guided tours and workshops, sharing her extensive knowledge of landscape photography with photographers of all skill levels.

These experiences have finely tuned Amanda's technical acumen and enriched her artistic vision, defining the well-rounded photographer she is today. Committed to continuous learning, she stays abreast of new techniques and technologies while still utilizing her first film cameras.

Outside of photography, Amanda enjoys traveling to scenic locations in her hybrid camper-conversion, hiking, paddle boarding, working on art projects, visiting art exhibits, and reading great books. She also cherishes spending time with her loved ones and many fur-friends, maintaining a popular seasonal pet-sitting service in her home base of Brevard, NC.
